The National Service Scheme (NSS) is an Indian government-sponsored public service program conducted by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. It aims to develop student’s personality through community service. Half new unit of NSS (50 volunteers) was sanctioned to Govt. Degree College-Nirmand on 03 December, 2022 vide notification No.1/ 2009 – (Allot)/ NSS/ HPU:-981.
The unit follows the motto “Not Me But You” and actively organize cleanliness drives, plantation drives and awareness programs in the college. The volunteers have to participate in a seven-day special camp every year. The date of enrolment is decided by the NSS Programme Officer with the permission of the Principal. The interested students can apply on the prescribed form available with the NSS Programme Officer.
